SNMP Get Monitor Template

How to configure the SNMP Get Monitor Template:

Important
First, verify the SNMP connection has been configured on each target host. For more information see: Host SNMP Properties.
  • From the Menu Bar, select File | New. The Create New Object View displays.
  • From the Create New Object View, expand Templates | SNMP Monitors then select SNMP Get Monitor. The New Template Properties View displays.
  • The Template Properties view contains 3 tabs.

The Options Tab

  • Use the SNMP device drop-down to select the server you would like to monitor.
Note
Once selected, the server is automatically assigned to this template.
  • Use the Object Identifier (OI) text box to specify the object identifier of the variable you would like to monitor (e.g. 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.6.0)
  • Use the Display name text box to specify the friendly OID name.
  • Use the Data type drop-down to select the variable's data type.
  • Use the Trigger check box to enable the trigger then use the drop-down to select the operand and the text box to specify the value.
  • Click the Test button to verify the template is configured property and the monitor executes as expected.
  • Finally, select the General Tab, then click the click the Auto-Generate Name Auto-Generate Name Button button to auto-generate a name based on the configured settings.
