Host Assignments Properties
The Assignments Tab, found within the Auto-Configurator, Syslog Server, SNMP Trap Server and Agent Server properties views, enables you to blacklist specific hostnames and IP addresses as well as assign new hosts to specific Groups, Templates, and Reports.
Object | Description |
---|---|
Agent Server | Applied when new hosts connect. |
AutoConfigurator | Applied each time Active Directory is scanned. |
SNMP Trap Server | Applied the first time a trap is received from a device. |
Syslog Server | Applied the first time a new device sends a syslog message. |
Host to blacklist specific hosts:
Any hostname or IP address can be blacklisted then ignored by the component attempting to add the host.
- From the Blacklist controls, use the Ignore the following hosts drop-down to blacklist and ignore specific hosts.
The following IPv4 wildcard formats are supported:
Format | Description |
---|---|
0.0.0.0 | A single IP address. |
0.0.0.0/255 | An IP octet range. This format can be applied to any octet position. |
0.0.0.0-255 | An IP octet range. This format can be applied to any octet position. |
0.0.0.0,1 | A comma delimited list of IP octets. This format can be applied to any octet position. |
0.0.0.0,1,2/3,4-5 | A comma delimited list of IP octets and ranges. This format can be applied to any octet position. |
Host to automatically assign and synchronize objects to hosts:
- Use the Host Groups drop-down to select the host groups you would like to assign each host.
- Use the Synchronize host groups checkbox to automatically re-apply the assignments each time the host is checked for existance.
- Use the Template Groups drop-down to select the template groups you would like to assign each host.
- Use the Report Groups drop-down to select the report groups you would like to assign each host.
- Use the Templates drop-down to select the templates you would like to assign each host.
- Use the Reports drop-down to select the templates you would like to assign each host.
