Assign Files

The Files and/or Logs tab found within various file monitor templates enables you to select the target files to act on.

Note
  • When the host is running the Agent and configured to remain connected, the Corner Bowl protocol stack is used.
  • When accessing a Windows machine, administrator Windows Shares are used.
  • When accessing a Linux or other Unix server, SFTP over SSH is used.
  • When accessing an FTP server, FTP/S is used.
  • The Select a host drop-down includes a drop-down button and a plus button.
  • Use the Drop-Down Drop-Down Button button to select an already existing host.
  • Use the Add Add Button button to add a new host to the system.
  • Once a host is selected, the tree view is populated with the file system contents.

Select Host Drop-Down

  • Navigate to the file you would like to target then select the tree node. Once selected the Search criteria text box is populated with the UNC path.
  • If the name of the target file contains the current date and/or time and the name of the file changes based on the current date and/or time, use the text box to enter criteria then click the Add Add Button button. The following tags are available:
VariableTagDescription
Yearyy or yyyyUse to replace the current year.
MonthM or MMUse to replace the current month.
Dayd or ddUse to replace the current day.

  • Use the Check Check Button button to test the search criteria. If the search criteria is successful, the top ten files found that match the target search criteria are listed in a popup notification.
  • If you target a file that is not present on some targeted servers, and you do not want to receive error alerts or trigger the server's status, select Ignore file not found errors.
