Registration Requirements
The Management Windows Service is the only component that needs to be registered. Neither the Management Console, nor the Agent requires registration.
How to Register the Management Windows Service
The registration process requires access to the Internet. If you are firewalled or air gapped, see How to Register an Air Gapped Installation.
If your organization is using a web proxy, see Web Proxy
- Open the Management Console, then from the Explorer View, select the root Licensing tree node. The License View displays.
- From the License View, use the Email textbox to specify the email address that was used to purchase your license.
Note
To add your email account to your organization's license, contact Corner Bowl Support at info@CornerBowlSoftware.com.
- Use the License key textbox to specify your license key.
Note
If you do not have a license key, log into the Corner Bowl Software website with your email address to retrieve your license key.
- Use the Node Count textbox to specify the number of nodes you would like to license.
Note
To distribute your license over multiple installations, set the node code on each installation so the total value does not exceed your licensed node count.
How to Register Air Gapped Installations
If the target server installation is air gapped, blocked by a firewall or otherwise unable to communicate with our licensing server, you have the option of manually generating a license key file from Corner Bowl Software's website.
To generate a license key file:
- Log into https://www.CornerBowlSoftware.com/Account/Login.
- From the upper right corner, select Order History.
- From the Order History View, select Register Air Gapped Server.
- Back on your targer server open a command prompt and type ipconfig -all
- Locate the connected adapter and physical address. The physical address will have the following format: 00-00-00-00-00-00
- Using the same format, back on Corner Bowl Software's website, enter the physical address below.
- Specify the number of nodes to register.
- Finally, click the Generate button. The license file is generated then automatically saved to your Downloads directory.
Note
Multiple installations can be registered at the same time. Once complete, optionally use the last generated license file on all installations.
To install the license key file:
- Copy the license key file to the following directory: C:\ProgramData\Corner Bowl\Server Manager\Licenses
- Open the Corner Bowl Management Console.
- Select Service -> Stop, then Service -> Start.
To verify the license key file:
- From the Management Console, locate the Explorer View, typically pinned to the left side of the application, then find the License node at the bottom of the view and select. The License View displays.
- Review your license information for accuracy.
To apply new maintenance to an existing air gapped installation:
- Open the Management Console, then from the Explorer View, select the root Licensing tree node.
- From the License detail find your local MAC address then copy the value for external use.
- From an open network, open Edge or Chrome and log into our website.
- From the upper right corner of our website, select Order History.
- Select the Register Air Gapped Server button.
- Follow the instructions above to re-generate your new air gapped license.
How to Unregister the Management Windows Service from an Existing Installation
- Open the Management Console, then from the Explorer View, select the root Licensing tree node. The License View displays.
- From the License View, use the Registration list to locate the target installation to unregister, then, click Unregister.
How to Unregister the Management Windows Service from a Decommissioned Installation
- Log into the Corner Bowl Software website.
- From the upper right corner, select Order History.
- From the Order History, locate and select your license.
- From the License Log, locate the installation you would like to unregister the click Unregister.
Important
If the Unregister button is not visible, your license is air gapped. Please contact Corner Bowl Support at info@CornerBowlSoftware.com with the MAC address you would like to unregister.
How to Unregister an Air Gapped Installation
- Log into the Corner Bowl Software website.
- From the upper right corner, select Order History.
- From the Order History, locate and select your license.
- From the License Log, locate the installation you would like to unregister.
