MySQL Error: Fatal error encountered during command execution

A Fatal error encountered during command execution is caused when a MySQL command times out while executing. To fix the error, increase the command execution timeout.

To increase the command execution timeout:

  • From the Explorer View, expand Data Providers. By default, The following two nodes are listed, Log Database and Archive Log Database.
  • Right click on the database you would like to configure, then select Properties. The Data Providers Properties view displays.
  • Use the Execution timeout text box to specify the maximum time to wait for SQL statements to complete before timing out.
  • Click the Save button to save the settings.
