SMART Disk Monitor Template
The SMART Disk Monitor Template enables you trigger alerts when a hard drive's S.M.A.R.T technology triggers an alert. This template is typically used by systems administrators that want to be notified when a hard drive triggers a S.M.A.R.T. alert. The SMART Disk Monitor Template uses WMI to query S.M.A.R.T. status.
How to configure the SMART Disk Monitor Template:
- From the Menu Bar, select File | New. The Create New Object View displays.
- From the Create New Object View, expand Templates | Windows Monitors then select SMART Disk Monitor. The New Template Properties View displays.
- The Template Properties view contains 4 tabs.
How to view SMART Predictive Failure Values:
- From the Explorer View, expand the root Hosts node then navigate through the tree to find the target host to review then expand.
- Find the SMART Disk Monitor template then right click and select Explore. The Monitor Detail View displays.
- From the Monitor Detail View, select the SMART Detail tab. Once displayed, the view automatically scans the first disk's SMART predictive failure values.
- Use the Disk drop-down to select the target disk to view.
- Use the Refresh
button to refresh the view with the latest values.
